多摩オープンキャンパスリーダーズ2026
「学生たちが本当に素晴らしかった」「もし20年前に戻れるなら、このキャンパスで学びたかった」―新たに着任された教員から、こんな声を聞きました。
私自身の印象を付け加えるなら、見事なチームワーク、それぞれに際立つ個性、学びへの真摯な姿勢、そしてオープンキャンパスリーダーズとしての「仕事」に対する揺るぎない楽しさ。これらの学生の前向きなエネルギーは、周囲にも伝わっていきます。
こうした感想は、私にとって決して意外なものではありませんでした。むしろ、2025年度の多摩オープンキャンパスリーダーズこそが、このコラムを書き始めるきっかけとなったのです。これらの学生は、執筆のきっかけであるだけでなく、さまざまな活動に取り組む他の学生たち、さらには本学のみならず3つの付属校の生徒、そして事務職員や教員の方々に至るまで、それぞれの魅力的なストーリーに耳を傾け、伝えていこうとする動機を与えてくれました。
オープンキャンパスリーダーズたちの活動の根底にある考え方は、日頃から密接に関わっている職員の方の言葉に端的に表れています。すなわち、学生たちは学業と多様な活動を通じて、自らの充実したキャンパスライフを築いている。そしてその経験こそが、キャンパスツアーやオープンキャンパスなどを通じて来訪者や関係者に多摩キャンパスや法政大学の魅力を伝える際の核となる。さらにそのプロセスは、自らの学生生活を一層深めていくための気づきにもつながっていく、というものです。
この日は、新任教員向け研修の2日目でした。DEIや教育改革に関するセッションに加え、学生によるキャンパスツアーやバスツアーが行われ、最後はお弁当で締めくくられました。しかもそれは、単なるお弁当ではなく、ハラール対応の食材を用い、現代福祉学部の卒業生が手がける取り組みの一環として用意された、実に美味しいお弁当でした。
オープンキャンパスリーダーズをはじめ、職員の方々、そしてあの特別な卒業生のおかげで――丁寧に作り込まれた半日のプログラムは、新任教員にとって印象深いスタートとなったのではないでしょうか。

“The students were wonderful!” “I would have wanted to study on this campus if I could go back 20 years.”
These were unsolicited comments from newly appointed faculty members.
To add my own: impeccable teamwork, distinctive personalities, deep commitment to their studies, and an unmistakable joy in their “work” as open campus leaders. Their enthusiasm is infectious.
These comments did not surprise me in the least. Indeed, it was the open campus leaders on the Tama campus—the 2025 cohort—who prompted me to start this column. They became the catalyst not only for writing, but also for reaching out, speaking with, and sharing the remarkable stories of other students engaged in a wide range of activities—not only within the university, but also across our three affiliated schools, and of course our administrative and teaching staff as well.
The underlying logic of their activities was aptly captured by an administrative staff member who works closely with them: through their studies and diverse activities, these students build a rich campus life for themselves. That experience, in turn, becomes the core material through which they introduce the campus to visitors and stakeholders—through campus tours and other open campus initiatives. The process also fosters an awareness of how they might further deepen and enhance their own student life.
The occasion was the second day of the new faculty seminar, which featured not only sessions on DEI and educational reform, but also student-led campus walking and bus tours, and concluded with a boxed lunch. Not just any boxed lunch, but a delicious one prepared with halal-certified ingredients as part of an initiative by an alum of the Social Welfare Department.
Thanks to the open campus leaders, the staff, and yes, the very special alum, a carefully crafted half-day—and a memorable start for our new faculty members.”
