新年あけましておめでとうございます。
本学は2025年、HOSEI2030ビジョンの実現に向け、着実な歩みを進めてまいりました。本年は第三期中期計画の推進にあたり、教学・研究・社会連携・学生支援・組織運営といった大学の基幹的諸活動を一層強化するとともに、キャンパスグランドデザインの具現化、ジェンダーバランスと平等の促進を含むDEIの推進、本学のさらなる国際化、そしてSDGsの継続的取り組みとカーボンニュートラルへの貢献に重点を置き、全学を挙げて取り組んでまいる所存です。
2030年に迎える創立150周年は、単なる節目にとどまらず、これまで培ってきた本学の理念と価値をあらためて確認し、未来への新たな地平を切り拓く好機でもあります。2026年は、2030年という重要な節目を超える長期ビジョンの策定に向け、建設的な議論を進めてまいりたいと存じます。
テクノロジーの急速な進展や、国際的・地球規模で複雑化する諸課題に直面する現代においても、私たちは本学憲章に掲げる「自由を生き抜く実践知」を旨とし、世界のいかなる場においても力を発揮し、自らの自由を自律的な思考へと昇華させ、その力をもって社会の向上に寄与する人材の育成という使命を揺るぎなく遂行してまいります。2025年、総長就任後の最初の十ヶ月間において、数多くの学生・卒業生の皆様と直接語らい、その志の高さと活力に触れる中で、本学が確かな方向へ進んでいることをあらためて確信いたしました。
2026年にいかなる情勢が訪れようとも、法政大学は直面する課題を乗り越え、さらなる発展に向けて取り組んでまいります。本年も変わらぬご理解とご支援を賜りますよう心よりお願い申し上げますとともに、皆様の2026年が実り豊かで充実した一年となりますよう、心より祈念申し上げます。

Happy New Year!
In 2025, we continued to move steadily toward realizing our HOSEI2030 vision. This year, as we implement our third mid-term plan, we will continue to strengthen our core activities in education, research, social engagement, student support, and institutional management, while placing particular emphasis on advancing our campus grand design; promoting DEI, including gender balance and equality; enhancing the globalization of our university; and contributing to a sustainable society through the continuation of our SDGs initiatives and our commitment to carbon neutrality.
Our 150th anniversary in 2030 is not only a significant milestone but also a moment to reaffirm our values and principles, and an opportunity to look ahead. In 2026, I look forward to constructive discussions to formulate our long-term vision beyond the landmark year of 2030.
In this ever-changing world, marked by exponential technological development and increasingly complex challenges at the international, global, and planetary levels, we remain steadfast in our mission—articulated in our Charter, “Practical Wisdom for Freedom”—to cultivate individuals who can thrive anywhere in the world, who can exercise their freedom to think independently and use that capacity to contribute to making the world a better place. The many students and alumni I had the pleasure of meeting during my first ten months as president in 2025 have deepened my conviction that our university is firmly on the right path.
We do not know what 2026 will bring, but we are determined to meet whatever challenges arise with resilience and unity. We sincerely ask for your continued support in 2026, and we wish you a year filled with achievement, growth, and fulfillment.
