法政大学第二中・高等学校　生徒会

法政大学第二中・高等学校の生徒会代表の皆さんと過ごした40分間は、非常に充実した、学びの多いひとときでした。学校内外におけるDEI（多様性、公平性、包摂性）への考え方や、「グローバルマインドセット」とは何かという理解、さらには、日常の中で感じる“モヤモヤすること”についてまで、幅広く意見を交わしました。

とりわけ印象的だったのは、生徒の皆さんの考えが「どんな背景を持っていても、みんなと仲良くする」というような表面的な理解を大きく超えていたことです。
背景や価値観の違いを尊重し、それらを大切にしながらも、違いが人と人とのつながりや理解を妨げるものにはならないようにする――そんな、違いとつながりに対するより深い理解を言葉にしてくれました。

多様な視点の中で自分の立ち位置を自覚し責任をもつこと、そして知識を得るだけでなく、それを自分の中に深く落とし込み、実際の行動へとつなげていくことの大切さについても語ってくれました。

この出会いは、私自身の仕事へのエネルギーを新たにしてくれるものでした。いつか大学で、またこれらの生徒さんたちと会える日を楽しみにしています。
そして最後にひとこと——あの紺のポロシャツ、すごく素敵でした！

It was a truly enriching 40 minutes spent with the student association representatives of Hosei Daini Junior and Senior High School. Our discussion touched on their perspectives on DEI—both within their school and beyond—as well as their understanding of what it means to have a global mindset, and the experiences that leave them with a lingering sense of discomfort or unease.

What impressed me most was how their thinking went far beyond the idea of simply “being friends with everyone regardless of background.” They articulated a more nuanced understanding of difference and connection—one that involves respecting and valuing diversity in background and values, without allowing such differences to become barriers to connection or understanding. They spoke of the importance of taking responsibility for one’s position in the midst of diverse perspectives, and of moving from surface-level knowledge to deeper internal reflection and meaningful action.

This encounter gave me renewed energy in my own work. I look forward to seeing these students again at the university someday—and I have to say, I love their navy blue polo shirts!
