この度は、GISの総合型選抜にご出願いただき、心より御礼申し上げます。私たちの学部に関心を寄せ、挑戦してくださった皆さん一人ひとりの努力と熱意に深い敬意を表します。

合格おめでとうございます！
皆さんが示してくれた可能性、熱意、そして挑戦する姿勢に、私たちは大いに感銘を受けました。これからの4年間、私たちは皆さんの持つポテンシャルを最大限に引き出す学びの場を提供していきます。GISでの経験を通じて、共により良い未来を切り拓いていきましょう。皆さんとお会いできる日を心より楽しみにしています。

今回、残念ながらご期待に添えない結果となってしまったこと、心よりお詫び申し上げます。しかし、皆さんの可能性に疑いの余地はなく、その努力と意欲には深い敬意を表します。今回の選考は、受験生同士の相対的な評価を基に、多角的な要素を慎重に考慮した結果、非常に僅差での決定となりました。この結果が皆さんの未来における新たなステップとなることを、心から願っております。

今回の総合型選抜では、昨年以上に多くの優秀な高校生が出願してくださり、競争が激しい選考となりました。GISでは、多様性の確保を重要視するとともに、出願書類や調査書を基に幅広い学問分野の知識や理解力と英語力の適切なバランスを慎重に評価しました。また、課外活動や探求活動等の経験を通じて培われたリーダーシップ、主体性、実行力、高校での学びを基盤として、今後4年間で専門的な学びを深め、卒業研究や論文につながる学習姿勢や態度も重視しました。これらを総合的に判断し、最終的な選考を行いました。

近年、多くの大学が英語学位プログラムを提供していますが、GISは2008年に開設された学部であり、コースやプログラムとは異なります。私たちは、複雑かつ領域横断的な課題に取り組み、より良い世界を創るグローバルリーダーの育成を目指しています。そのため、世界の共通言語である英語で、約30の学術分野から構成された200科目以上の人文社会科学を中心としたカリキュラムや大学との連携によるデータサイエンス科目などを通して、最先端の学びを提供しています。
また、GISでは少人数制の学びを採用しており、多様な背景を持つ学生が教授陣や学生同士と英語で深い議論を交わしながら専門的な知識を磨く環境が整っています。卒業後の進路は、日系・外資系企業、海外大学院、さらには起業など幅広く、GGLIやGSASをはじめとした進路支援体制も充実しています。

改めて、受験生の皆さん一人ひとりの挑戦に深く感謝申し上げます。皆さんの今後のさらなるご活躍を、心よりお祈り申し上げます。

We deeply regret that we could not meet your expectations this time, and we sincerely apologize for the outcome. The selection process was based on a comprehensive evaluation of various factors, and the decisions were made with the utmost care and consideration, often determined by extremely narrow margins. This year's Comprehensive Admissions Process（総合型選抜）was marked by heightened competition, with a larger number of outstanding high school students applying than in previous years. At GIS, we place great importance on diversity while carefully evaluating applicants' balance of knowledge and understanding across a wide range of academic disciplines alongside their proficiency in English.

Additionally, we evaluated leadership, initiative, and execution skills cultivated through extracurricular and inquiry-based activities, building upon the foundation of their high school education.

These qualities were assessed with an eye toward the next four years, where students will deepen their expertise and engage in research or thesis projects. All of these factors were taken into account to make the final decisions.

While many universities today offer English-taught degree programs, GIS stands out as a faculty established in 2008, rather than merely a course or program within or associated with a department. Our mission is to develop global leaders equipped to tackle complex and interdisciplinary challenges and contribute to building a better world.
To achieve this, we provide cutting-edge education through over 200 courses, all taught in English, the global lingua franca, spanning approximately 30 academic fields, focusing on the humanities and social sciences, as well as state-of-the-art subjects such as data science in collaboration with the university.
GIS also fosters an intimate and rigorous academic environment with small class sizes, where students from diverse backgrounds engage in profound discussions with faculty and peers, honing their specialized knowledge. Graduates of GIS pursue varied paths, including careers in Japanese and international corporations, advanced studies at overseas graduate schools, and entrepreneurship. We also provide robust career support through initiatives like GGLI and GSAS.
