| Education and Experience/教育・経験 | After receiving a B.A. in Japanese Studies from KU Leuven (2014) in Belgium, Romeo Marcantuoni pursued an M.A. in Japanese Studies at KU Leuven (2016). After working for several years he entered the Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies at Waseda University in Tokyo, completing a Ph.D. in International Studies (2026) with a dissertation entitled Feeling out the Opposition: Japanese Democracy and the Politics of Emotion. He previously taught at Kyoritsu Women’s University and Temple University, Japan Campus. |
| Research Interests/研究関心 | Professor Marcantuoni is primarily interested in the study of political parties and political discourse. His doctoral research and future book project focuses on the emotional discourses of Japanese opposition parties after the fall of the Democratic Party of Japan government. He also researches conspiracy discourses in Japanese politics and the role it plays in normalizing the ideology of the far right. |

略歴（日本語）
早稲田大学大学院アジア太平洋研究科にて博士後期課程を終了し、博士号（国際関係学）を取得。共立女子大学国際学部とテンプル大学ジャパンキャンパス政治学科にて非常勤講師として勤務を経て2026年4月より法政大学グローバル教養学部に助教授として着任。政党政治と政治言説について研究しており、博士論文では日本の野党政党政治の言説空間における感情の役割について分析。現在、博士論文の書籍化のほか、日本の民主主義社会における極右思想および陰謀論と政党の相関性について研究を行っている。
