Overseas Academic Study Programとは

4月入学者は2・3年次秋学期もしくは3年次春学期、9月入学者は3年次秋学期もしくは2・3年次春学期に、アメリカ、イギリス、カナダ、ニュージーランドの各協定大学で4～10ヶ月（長期、ニュージーランドのみ）、正規の学部授業を学ぶプログラムが、GISのOverseas Academic Study Program（以下OAS）です。異文化理解を深め、国際人としてのコモンセンスも身につきます。

The GIS Overseas Academic Study Program (Or OAS) is a program in which students who enroll in April can take regular undergraduate courses for 4 or 10 months (10-month programs available for New Zealand only) at partner universities in the United States, UK, Canada, or New Zealand during the fall semester of their Sophomore year, or any semester during their Junior year, while students who enroll in September take these courses during the spring semester of their Sophomore year, or any semester of their Junior year. Students will deepen their understanding of other cultures and develop the common sense expected of global citizens.

原則として第一希望を優先しますが、一定レベル以上の英語力とGPA（授業評定）が必要です。GISは意欲ある学生の実力に応じた、最良のOverseas Academic Study Programの実現に努めています。

In general practice, we give priority to first-choice applicants; however, applicants must meet a certain level of English proficiency and a minimum GPA, or grade point average. GIS strives to provide the best possible OAS program, tailored to the abilities of motivated students.

OASに必要な英語能力の最低基準は、各OAS先大学によって異なります。通例、OAS参加時までにTOEFL iBT®換算で71～90以上のスコアが求められます。GISにはTOEFL®やIELTS等の英語能力試験の授業料を補助する制度がありますので、ご利用ください。

The minimum English proficiency requirement for the OAS vary depending on the participating university. Typically, a TOEFL iBT score, or equivalent, of 71-90 or higher is required by the time of participation in OAS. GIS offers a program that subsidizes the cost of English proficiency tests, such as the TOEFL and IELTS, so please take advantage of these offerings. 

希望者はGISで1年次に十分な成績を修め、かつ各OAS大学が要求するGIS1年次のGPAを満たす必要があります。各大学のホームページを参照するか、GISのOASスタッフにお尋ねください。また、大学によっては、学部授業と基礎科目を組み合わせたコースを選択することも可能です。

Applicants must have achieved satisfactory grades in their first year at GIS and meet the Freshman GIS GPA requirements set by each OAS participating university. Please refer to each university’s individual website or contact the GIS OAS staff for more information. Additionally, depending on the University, you may be able to select a source that combines undergraduate classes with foundational courses (such as Academic Writing.)

GISでは独自のOAS奨学金制度として、参加学生全員に一律50万円（短期）～100万円（長期）の奨学金を支給いたします。さらに、成績が優秀な学生には、10万円もしくは20万円（短期）、10万円もしくは40万円（長期）を追加で支給いたします。なお、この奨学金は返還不要です。

As part of GIS’ unique OAS scholarship program, we provide all participating students with a standard scholarships ranging from 500,000 yen for a short-term program, to 1,000,000 yen for a long-term program. In addition, students with outstanding academic performance can receive an additional 100,000-200,000 ye for a short-term program, or 100,000-400,000 yen for a long-term program. This scholarship does not need to be repaid.

OAS先により、授業料が異なります。この他に渡航費、宿泊費、保険料等が必要となります。OASに関わる費用は、学費の他に別途納入して頂くことになります。

Tuition will vary depending on the associated OAS program. In addition, the student will be responsible for travel expenses, accommodation fees, insurance premiums, and other related expenses. Fees associated with the OAS program must be paid separately from tuition.

OAS先で修得した単位は、最大20単位まで（長期は40単位まで）GISの卒業所要単位（124単位）にあてることができ、GISの100-300レベルの単位として計算されます。GISのOASと本学の「派遣留学制度」や「認定海外留学制度」などを合わせて利用した場合は、最大60単位まで認定することができます。

Up to 20 credits (or 40 credits, for long-term programs) earned through the OAS program can be applied towards the GIS requirement of 124 credits and will be counted as GIS 100-300 level credits. If you combine the GIS OAS program with the University’s “Study Abroad Dispatch Program” or “Approved Study Abroad Program,” up to 60 credits can be recognized.

GISの学生も法政大学全体の「派遣留学」制度を活用できます。3年次または4年次に海外協定大学へ1年間留学でき、本学より奨学金が70～100万円（派遣先大学により異なります）支給されるほか、留学先での授業料が免除されます。また派遣先大学で修得した単位は、教授会で審議のうえ卒業所要単位として認定されます。オーストラリアの大学へは春学期入学、その他の大学は秋学期入学となります。

GIS students can also take advantage of Hosei University’s institution-wide “Study Abroad” program. Students can study abroad for one year at a partnered university overseas during their Junior or Senior year. In addition to receiving a scholarship of 700,000-1,000,000 yen from the University (amount dependent on the host University), tuition fees at the host university are waived. Additionally, credits earned at the host university will be recognized as counting towards graduation requirements, following deliberation and decision from the Faculty Council. Enrollment at universities in Australia begin in the spring semester, while enrollment at all other international universities begins in the fall semester.

2年生以上の学生が、一定条件を満たした外国の大学（正規課程）へ私費で留学した場合、留学先で修得した単位を教授会で審議の上、30～60単位を限度として、本学の卒業所要単位として認定しています。認定海外留学制度への希望者は所定期日までに申請する必要があります。認定留学生には本学後援会から認定海外留学奨学金が支給されるほか、本学独自の奨学金制度「開かれた法政21」「グローバルキャリア支援基金による海外留学支援奨励金」があります。また、推奨校としてイギリスのUniversity of NottinghamとUniversity of Glasgowを紹介しています。

If a student in their Sophomore year or higher studies abroad at a foreign university as part of their regular degree program at their own expense, and meets certain conditions, the Faculty Council will review the earned credits and recognize them as credits toward the University’s graduation requirements, up to the University maximum of 30-60 credits. Students wishing to participate in the “Approved Study Abroad Program” must apply by the specified deadline. In addition to the “Approved Study Abroad Scholarship” provided by by the University’s Alumni Association, recognized students are eligible for the University’s own scholarship programs: “Open Hosei 21” and “the Study Abroad Support Grant from the Global Career Support Fund.” The University recommends the University of Nottingham and the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom as partner institutions.
