【イベント報告】GSAS 第四回ワークショップ開催 / Fourth GSAS Workshop on October 6th

The first GSAS workshop of the fall semester was held on October 6. The session focused on effective strategies for writing a personal statement, a key component of graduate school applications. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance not only of articulating their academic interests and goals, but also of thoughtfully addressing the underlying reasons that make these goals worth pursuing. The workshop further highlighted the significance of presenting oneself as a strong match for the program and of providing concrete and compelling episodes for these claims. The workshop offered a wealth of valuable guidance for students currently drafting their statements as well as those planning to prepare one in the coming year.

秋学期初回のGSASワークショップは10月6日に開催されました。大学院出願の中でも重要な位置を占めるPersonal Statementの書き方について学びました。そのプログラムで何を学びたいのか、自分は何に興味があるのかについて書くだけでは不十分で、その背景にある「なぜ」という問いに深く向き合い説明すること、さらに自分がそのプログラムが求めている学生であることを具体的に説得力をもって説明することの重要性について理解を深めました。ちょうどPersonal Statementを執筆中の学生にとっても、来年度に書く予定の学生にとっても、有意義な情報が満載でした。
