山﨑綾香さん（2022年3月卒業）
グローバル教養学部（GIS）を卒業し、現在は株式会社セールスフォース・ジャパンで企業の成長を支援する業務に携わる卒業生にお話を伺いました。学生時代の取り組みや現在の仕事、そして将来の展望についてお聞きしました。
We spoke with graduate of GIS, Ayaka Yamazaki, who supports corporate growth at Salesforce Japan. We asked her about her time as a student, her job, and her future goals.

山﨑綾香さん
現在の仕事内容について教えてください。/ Tell us about the work that you’re currently doing.
山﨑さん：セールスフォースを導入いただいたお客様向けに、弊社製品で課題解決や業務効率化ができるよう各社のニーズに合わせて構築していたくパートナー企業のご支援をしてます。担当企業のSalesforce関連ビジネスが成長するよう、導入プロジェクトの品質の維持や、どういった施策を打ち出せば案件を増やせるか等、コンサルティングのような立ち位置で担当企業の事業成長のご支援を行っております。
Ms. Yamazaki: I support our partner companies by helping configure our products to meet their specific needs, so the client can solve problems, and improve overall operational efficiency. I work as a consultant, supporting the business growth of companies we manage and focusing on maintaining the quality of implemented projects and identifying strategies to increase our number of projects.
なぜセールスフォース・ジャパンを選んだのですか？ / Why did you decide to choose this industry, this company?
山﨑さん：セールスフォース・ジャパンに入社した決め手は、企業文化です。弊社は、社会貢献や多様性というテーマが企業に根付いております。弊社では株式の1%、製品の1%、従業員の就業時間の1%を、より公平でサステナブルな世界を築くために活用する「1-1-1モデル」というものがあり、社員のボランティア活動を推奨しております。また、様々な社会課題に対する従業員のリソースグループもあります。私自身も現在LGBTQ+への理解と権利を啓蒙するリソースグループに所属しております。自分自身、社会学のゼミ出身かつ、継続的にボランティアに力を入れていたことから、会社の売り上げだけでなく、社会を形成する一つの組織として社会にポジティブなインパクトを与える社風に魅力を感じ、入社を決意しました。
Ms. Yamazaki: I chose Salesforce Japan because of the company culture. Social contribution and diversity is really ingrained in our overall culture, and we have what’s called a “1-1-1 Model,” where 1% of shares, products, and company time is spent creating a more equitable, sustainable world. We actively encourage employee volunteer projects, and we have employee resource groups dedicated to different social issues. I’m a member of a resource group that promotes rights and understanding for members of the LGBTQ+ community. Since I majored in sociology and was actively involved in volunteer work, I was really drawn to the company’s culture. It focuses not just on sales but also on a positive social impact while taking shape as an organization. That’s why I decided to join.
学生時代に力を入れていたことを教えてください。/ What direction did you take while you were a student? What was your focus?
山﨑さん：学生時代には児童支援のボランティアに力を入れておりました。機能不全家庭の支援や、児童養護施設のボランティア等、様々な家庭の事情を抱えた子どもたちが楽しい時間を過ごせるよう、将来の選択肢を広げられるよう支援をしておりました。
Ms. Yamazaki: When I was a student, I was actively involved in volunteer work supporting children through outreach programs or volunteering at children’s homes. I helped children from all different backgrounds, playing with them, having a good time, and helping them to expand their future options.
GISでの学びが今の仕事にどう生きていますか？ / How has your time in GIS helped you in your current job?
山﨑さん：担当企業と弊社、両者Win-winな関係を築くには色々なスキルが必要となります。GISで勉強した、様々な分野での知識が土台としてあるので、色々な分野でのキャッチアップがしやすかったです。私の仕事では、担当企業の業績や事業計画や理解し、施策提案を行い、実行してもらうことが大事になります。Financeの授業で学んだ決算の読み方や、Psychologyで学んだ人を前向きにさせるアプローチ等様々な分野での基礎知識が活かせれていると感じます。
Ms. Yamazaki: Building a win-win relationship between our clients and company requires a range of skills. Because of the foundational knowledge I gained across different fields in GIS, it was easier for me to get up to speed quickly. In my role, it’s crucial to understand a client’s performance and business plans, propose strategies, and ensure they’re implemented effectively. I feel like I’m able to apply that foundational knowledge I gained, like knowing how to read financial statements from my finance classes or motivate people from my psychology classes.
今後のキャリアビジョンについて教えてください。/ Tell us about your future plans or career goals.
山﨑さん：キャリアビジョンとして、自分自身でキャリアを選択できるような市場価値の高い人材になりたいと思っております。将来的には国を超えて、海外での仕事にもチャレンジしてみたいと思っております。
Ms. Yamazaki: When it comes to my future career plans, I want to be a high-level, marketable professional, who has the ability to choose my own career path. In the future, I’d like to attempt working abroad, even though it’d be challenging.
GISの好きなところを教えてください。/ What do you like most about the GIS program?
山﨑さん：GISの魅力は、芯があり、バックグラウンドや個性豊かな人が沢山いるところです。皆さんGISの特徴に惹かれて来ているので、自分の考え方ややりたいことのビジョンを持たれている人が多い傾向にあります。多様な方々と大学生活を共にすることで、自分だけでは出会えなかった価値観に出会えました。また、個性豊かなメンバーが多い分、「こうあるべき」という考えが薄く、多様な個性を尊重してくれるので、自分らしくのびのびできるというのもGISの大好きなポイントです！
Ms. Yamazaki: What makes GIS so appealing is a strong sense of purpose; the fact that it’s home to so many people with a range of backgrounds and personalities. People are drawn to GIS because of its unique offerings, and because of that, a lot of people have their own way of thinking and a vision of what they want to do and achieve. By spending my college years with such a diverse group of people, I’ve been able to discover values I would have never encountered on my own. Plus, there are so many unique individuals, there’s no pressure to conform. There’s no “One Size Fits All” attitude. People respect one another’s individuality, which allows me to be myself, thrive, and it’s one of the things I love most about GIS!
GIS生を目指す高校生にメッセージをお願いします。/ Do you have anything you’d like to share with high school students who might be interested in GIS?
山﨑さん：もしかしたら言語面で不安を抱えられている方もいらっしゃるかもしれません。言語なんてその環境に身を置けば、自然と頑張れるし伸びていくものだと思うので、少しでもGISいいなーと感じたらぜひチャレンジしてみてください！
Ms. Yamazaki: You might be worried about a possible language barrier. But once you immerse yourself in the department, in the environment, I think you’ll find the motivation to try your best and improve your language ability. If you’re even remotely interested in GIS, give it a try!
