【学部ニュース】福岡ゼミ、英語での探求学習を通じて高校生と交流 / Fukuoka Seminar students meet with high school students using inquiry-based learning in English

6月22日（土）、福岡ゼミの学生3名と英語学位プログラム等に所属する5人が、都立富士高校の高校3年生による英語でのポスターセッションに招かれました。この探求学習発表会では、高校生たちが自ら選んだテーマについて英語で発表を行い、大学生はその発表を聞いて質問を投げかけ、彼らの考えをさらに深める手助けをしました。

高校生たちは自分の興味関心に基づいたテーマを選び、資料を集め、分析し、発表を行うまでの過程をしっかりと踏んでいました。特に、高校生らしい視点でテーマにアプローチする姿勢が非常に興味深く感じられました。

今回のポスターセッションは、高校生にとっても大学生にとっても非常に有意義な時間となりました。高校生たちは、自分の考えを英語で伝えることの難しさと楽しさを実感したことでしょう。一方、大学生は、彼らの新鮮な視点から多くを学びました。今後もこのような機会を通じて、高校生と大学生が互いに学び合う場を大切にしていきたいと思います。

On Saturday, June 22nd, three students from the GIS Fukuoka Seminar, and five students from the English Degree Program offered by Hosei University, were invited to attend an English poster session conducted by third-year students at Tokyo Metropolitan Fuji High School. During this research presentation event, the high school students presented their chosen topics in English, while the university students listened, asked questions, and helped the high school students deepen their understanding of their topics.

The high school students selected topics based on their interests, did information-gathering, analyzed this information, and went through the process of presenting their findings. It was particularly interesting to see how they approached their themes from the perspective of being high school students.

This poster session was a very meaningful experience for all the students who attended, from both university and high school. The high school students experienced the challenges and joys of expressing their ideas in English. On the other hand, the university students learned a lot from the fresh perspectives of the high school students. We hope to continue fostering such opportunities where high school and university students can learn from each other.
