「Can We Teach Empathy? Classrooms and Learning in the United Statesの2つの科目を教えてくださっています。

On October 23, GIS Talks welcomed Dr. Alexandra Vasile from the University of Arkansas. In her talk, entitled “Can We Teach Empathy? Experiential Learning in American Education,” highlighted the importance of developing historical empathy—the ability to understand and appreciate the perspectives of people in the past—in history education. Following the talk, students and faculty members engaged in a lively discussion with Dr. Vasile on the applicability of experiential learning to other fields, ways to enhance students’ engagement, and the potential drawbacks of empathy. Dr, Vasile is a Fulbright scholar, currently visiting Hosei University to teach two special courses for GIS students: Contemporary American Culture and Classrooms and Learning in the United States.
