【学部ニュース】2026年度 湯澤ゼミ夏合宿の報告 (国際関係論ゼミ）／Report on the 2026 “Yuzawa Zemi” Summer Camp (Seminar in International Relations)

湯澤ゼミは9月上旬に、2泊3日の日程で千葉の茂原にて夏合宿を行いました。
毎年、合宿では秋学期に取り組む個人研究の計画について、ゼミ生がそれぞれ発表します。4年生は、夏休み前に教授やゼミ生から受けたフィードバックをもとに、研究計画をブラッシュアップし、発表に臨みました。当日は、教授からだけでなく、ゼミ生からも鋭い質問を受け、自身の研究を改めて見つめ直し、さらに内容を深める機会となりました。3年生にとっては、今回が初めての計画発表となりました。研究計画をまとめて発表することは決して簡単ではありませんが、それぞれが自分の関心を掘り下げ、個性が感じられるテーマを選んで発表していました。
1日目の発表後には、みんなで花火をし、夏を感じる楽しい時間を過ごしました。また、温泉で疲れを癒したり、部屋で話したりと、普段のゼミ活動ではなかなかできない交流も楽しみました。
2日目の発表後には、みんなでBBQを行いました。研究発表を終えたことで緊張もすっかり解け、和やかな雰囲気の中で盛り上がりました。その後は、いよいよ合宿の打ち上げです。事前にお酒をたくさん買い込んでいたものの、予想以上の盛り上がりですぐになくなってしまうほどでした。普段のゼミでは見ることのできない教授やゼミ生の意外な一面を知ることもでき、夜遅くまで楽しい時間が続きました。
3日目は、あいにくの暴風雨に見舞われ、電車も運休してしまったため、予定を変更して急遽帰宅することになりました。教授とみんなで帰宅方法を相談し、車を出してくれる人や移動を手伝ってくれる人もいて、無事に帰ることができました。
2泊3日の合宿を通して、研究について議論するだけでなく、ゼミの親睦も一層深めることができました。教授をはじめ、予約や運転、買い出しなど、合宿を支えてくれたみんなのおかげで、充実した楽しい合宿となりました。
 

The Yuzawa Seminar held a three-day, two-night summer camp in Mobara, Chiba Prefecture, in early September. 
Every year, the summer camp provides an opportunity for seminar students to present their individual research plans for the fall semester. The fourth-year students presented their updated plans based on feedback from the professor and their fellow seminar students before the summer break. During the presentations, they received not only sharp advice from the professor but also questions from the other seminar students, giving them a valuable opportunity to reconsider their research and further develop their ideas. For the third-year students, this was their first time presenting their research plans. Developing and presenting a research plan is not easy, but each student explored their own interests and chose a research topic. 
After the presentations on the first day, we set off fireworks together and enjoyed a fun evening, taking in the feeling of summer. We also relaxed in the hot springs and spent time talking in our rooms, enjoying opportunities to interact that we do not often have during regular seminar activities. 
After the presentations on the second day, we had a BBQ. With the research presentations over, everyone was finally able to relax, and the atmosphere quickly became lively. Later that evening, we held the main wrap-up party. We had bought plenty of drinks in advance, but they disappeared quickly. We were also able to discover unexpected sides of the professor and seminar members that we would not normally see during regular seminar activities, and the evening continued late into the night. 
On the third day, we were unfortunately hit by severe stormy weather, and train services were suspended. As a result, we had to change our plans and head home earlier than expected. The professor and everyone discussed how to get home, and some people offered to drive while others helped with transportation. Thanks to everyone's cooperation, we were all able to make it home safely. 
Over the course of the three-day, two-night camp, we not only had the opportunity to discuss our research but also strengthened the bonds within the seminar. Thanks to everyone who helped support the camp, including those who made reservations, drove, and went shopping for supplies, we were able to have an enjoyable summer camp.
