【学部ニュース】「Leadership and Career Development」で学ぶ、多様なキャリアとグローバルリーダーシップ／Exploring Diverse Careers and Global Leadership through “Leadership and Career Development”

2026年度春学期の「Leadership and Career Development」では、主にGISの産学連携組織であるGIS Global Leadership Initiative(GGLI)のフェローとして参画する起業家や、日系・外資系グローバル企業、政府系機関などで活躍する12名の方々をゲストスピーカーとしてお招きし、ご自身のキャリア、仕事に対する考え方、ビジネスの実際についてお話しいただきました。7月20日の最終講義では、NVIDIA日本法人代表兼米国本社副社長の大崎氏をゲストスピーカーとしてお招きし、ご講演いただきました。

学生たちは、多様なキャリアの歩み方に触れるとともに、キャリアは必ずしも最初から計画どおりに形成されるものではなく、経験や出会い、失敗、挑戦を重ねながら築かれていくことを学びました。また、グローバルな環境で働くために必要な専門性、コミュニケーション力、異文化理解、リーダーシップに加え、自ら機会をつくり、変化に柔軟に対応する姿勢の重要性についても理解を深めました。

さらに、仕事や企業を単に知名度や待遇だけで選ぶのではなく、自分が何を大切にし、どのような価値を社会に提供したいのかを考えることが、主体的なキャリア形成の出発点であることを学ぶ機会となりました。

法政大学GISは英語による学びと分野横断的な教育を通じて、国際社会で主体的に行動し、多様な人々と協働しながら新たな価値を生み出すグローバルリーダーの育成を目指しています。今後も、産学連携や実社会との接点を生かしながら、学生一人ひとりが自らの可能性を広げ、将来のキャリアを主体的に切り拓くための教育を充実させていきます。

In the Spring 2026 semester, the Leadership and Career Development course welcomed 12 guest speakers, many of whom serve as fellows of the GIS Global Leadership Initiative (GGLI), GIS’s industry–academia collaboration platform. The speakers included entrepreneurs and professionals working at Japanese and multinational companies, government-related organizations, and other global institutions. They shared insights into their own career journeys, approaches to work, and real-world business experiences.
For the final class on July 20th, we welcomed Masataka Osaki, Vice President at NVIDIA Corporation and Representative of NVIDIA Japan, as our guest speaker.

Through the course, students were introduced to a wide range of career paths and learned that careers do not always develop according to a predetermined plan. Rather, they are often shaped through accumulated experiences, encounters with others, setbacks, and new challenges.

Students also deepened their understanding of the qualities required to work in a global environment. These include professional expertise, communication skills, intercultural understanding, and leadership, as well as the ability to create opportunities and respond flexibly to change.

The course also encouraged students to look beyond factors such as a company’s reputation or employment conditions when making career choices. They learned that the starting point for building a career independently is to consider what they value personally and what kind of contribution they wish to make to society.

Through English-medium and interdisciplinary education, Hosei University GIS aims to develop global leaders who can act independently in the international community, collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds, and create new value.

GIS will continue to strengthen its educational programs by drawing on industry–academia collaboration and opportunities for engagement with the wider professional world. Through these efforts, we will support each student in expanding their potential and taking an active role in shaping their future career.
