Q. なぜGISに入学しようと思いましたか。／Why did you want to attend GIS?
リベラルアーツ教育によって実現される学際的な学びに魅力を感じたからです。私は将来的に様々な人と柔軟に協働できる人になりたいと考えており、そのためには幅広い分野に対する知見をもち、物事を多角的に捉える力を養うことが重要だと考えていました。その点で多様な分野を横断的に学ぶことのできるGISのプログラムは魅力的でした。また、幅広い分野の知識を習得しながらも、学年が上がるにつれて自分の関心分野についての学びを深め、専門性も身につけられる点にも惹かれました。
I was drawn to the interdisciplinary learning through a liberal arts education. I want to become someone who can collaborate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, and I believe that having broad knowledge across fields and the ability to see things from different perspectives is crucial to achieve this. I believe that GIS Liberal Arts Program, which allows students to explore a wide range of academic fields, provides the ideal environment to develop these skills. I was also attracted to the program because it lets me explore a variety of subjects while gradually focusing on the areas I’m most interested in.
Q. GISのここが好き！を教えてください。 ／Tell us what you like about GIS!
2点あります。1点目は少人数で授業が行われるところです。少人数だと発言や質問がしやすく、授業内容への理解をより深めることができていると感じています。グループワークに取り組む機会も多いため、他の学生の意見や考え方から多くの学びを得ることができます。2点目はどの授業でもアクティブラーニングが取り入れられているところです。GISでは教授が一方的に講義を行うのではなく、ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションを通して主体的に学べる環境が整っています。そのため100分間の授業も最後まで集中して取り組むことができます。
There are two things I particularly like about GIS. First, classes are small with a maximum of 36 students, making it easier to ask questions and participate in discussions, and allowing you to deepen your understanding of the materials. Since there are many opportunities for group work, you can learn a lot from other students’ ideas and perspectives. Second, every class incorporates active learning. At GIS, professors do not simply deliver lectures but encourage students to engage actively in the class through discussions, presentations, and other activities. This interactive approach creates an environment where I can stay focused and fully engaged throughout the class.
Q: 普段の授業の様子を教えてください。／What does a normal class look like, for you?
少人数かつオールイングリッシュで授業が行われます。常に肯定的な姿勢で互いの意見を尊重し合うインクルーシブな環境が魅力的です。また、様々なバックグラウンドをもつ学生が集まっているので、ディスカッションやグループワークを通して多様な視点に触れ、自分の視野を広げながら学ぶことができます。
Classes are small and conducted entirely in English. The inclusive environment, where everyone listens to and respects each other’s opinions with a positive attitude, is especially appealing. By collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds, you can learn from different viewpoints and broaden your perspective.

Q. ゼミの様子を教えてください。／What seminars have you attended?
Professor EyoのEntrepreneurship and Innovationというゼミに所属しています。普段の授業ではディスカッションやグループや個人でのプレゼンテーションを通してリーディングの内容に対する理解を深めます。企業訪問をする機会もあり、実際のビジネスの現場についてお話を伺うことで、授業で学んだ内容をより具体的に理解することができました。起業している学生もいたり、様々な経験やバックグラウンドをもつ生徒が集まっているので他の生徒から学ぶことも非常に多いです。
I am a member of Professor Eyo’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation seminar. In class, we deepen our understanding of the materials through discussions and group and individual presentations. We also visit companies to see how the concepts we’ve studied in class are applied in real-world business settings. With students from diverse backgrounds, including some who have started their own companies, there is a lot to learn from everyone in class, including other students.
Q. 課外活動の様子や、授業との両立について教えてください。／How do you balance activities like clubs with your class schedule?
オープンキャンパススタッフとして活動しており、私は個別相談企画というチームに所属しています。オープンキャンパス当日までは週に一度のミーティングを通して準備を進めます。とても仲が良く、みんなでBBQをしたりディズニーに行ったりします。授業やアルバイトなどで疲れているときでも個別相談企画のみんなに会うと元気がもらえます。普段関わる機会の少ない他学部の学生と仲良くなれるのでサークルや部活動にもぜひ積極的に参加してみてほしいです。
I am a member of the Open Campus staff. We prepare for the open campus through weekly meetings. We often hang out together outside of school activities, like having BBQs or going to Disney. Even when I feel tired from classes or part-time work, seeing my teammates always cheers me up. Since it is a great chance to meet students from other faculties, I would definitely encourage you to get involved in clubs or student organizations.
Q. 現在考えている進路と、その理由について教えてください。／What career path are you considering, and why?
コンサルティングファームへの就職が決まっています。専門性を確立しつつコアコンサルティングスキルを身につけたいと考えコンサルタントを志望していました。また、個人ではなくチームで働きたいという思いも決め手のひとつでした。
I will be joining a global consulting firm after graduation. I decided to pursue a career in consulting to develop strong, transferable business skills while building expertise in a specific area. I also value working in an environment where people collaborate closely.
