| Education and Experience/教育・経験 | Takeshi Yuzawa received his PhD in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prior to joining Hosei University, he was a research fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), a research think tank affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. He is the author of Japan’s Security Policy and the ASEAN Regional Forum: The Search for Multilateral Security in the Asia-Pacific (Routledge). He has also published articles in international peer-reviewed journals as well as numerous book chapters in edited volumes. |
| Research Interests/研究関心 | Professor Yuzawa’s research interests include international relations theory and international relations of East Asia. His on-going research project, funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, examines the prospect of international rule-making and regional order in East Asia by illuminating the process of contestation over legitimate norms between major countries, such as the United States, China, Japan, and the ASEAN states, and its effects on the emerging rules in regional political and security affairs. |

略歴（日本語）
The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) にて博士号を取得（国際関係学博士）。民間企業勤務後に、大学院に留学。その後日本国際問題研究所常勤研究員などを経て、2010年に本学グローバル教養学部に着任、現在に至る。専門は国際関係理論と東アジアの国際関係。主な著書に、Japan’s Security Policy and the ASEAN Regional Forum: The Search for Multilateral Security in the Asia-Pacific (Routledge) (単著)、International Security in the Asia Pacific :Transcending ASEAN towards Transitional Polycentrism (Palgrave Macmilan)（共著）、『国際秩序が揺らぐとき－歴史・理論・国際法からみる変容』（千倉書房）（共著）など。その他、学術書や査読付き学術誌に多数の論文を発表。国際学会においても、パネルを数多く企画するなど、研究成果を広く国際社会に発信するために積極的に活動している。現在は、科学研究費の助成を受けて、アジアの多国間制度に制度化された国際規範（協調的安全保障、人権など）の意味解釈が、規範が政策化される過程で変化し、結果として規範の促進に効果的とはいえない政策が実施される現象、すなわちアジアの多国間制度固有の組織的慣習を解明するために、政策科学論、組織論、社会学を応用した理論枠組みの構築を目的とする学際的な研究を行ってる。2024年に政治学・国際関係学分野において世界有数の学会であるInternational Studies Association (ISA) Asia-Pacificの理事(Exectutive Comittee member/Treasurer)に選出され、国際学会の運営にも従事している。
