大雨ニモマケズ、電車の遅延ニモマケズ、
強い志をもった一年生から四年生の学生が6月18日の第二回GS ASワークショップに集いました。 今回はGIS資料室に勤務するマイケル・ サリバンさんにも登壇いただきました。 サリバンさんはGISに来る4年半前までは、 イギリスの大学の入学審査に関わる仕事に携わっていました。 これまでに多くのGIS生の大学院出願をサポートし、その結果、 多くのGIS生が国内外の大学院に進学しました。 今回のワークショップでは、 教授から強い推薦を受けるための秘訣や、 志望動機を書く際に気を付けるべきことについてお話しました。 また、 各自の進学したい分野と準備段階に合わせたアドバイスをしました 。 次回GSASワークショップは6月27日の3時からです。

Despite heavy rain and train delays, highly dedicated students from first to fourth year turned out for our second GSAS workshop of the term on June 18th. This time, we had the privilege to hear from Mr. Michael Sullivan, our talented GSAS advisor working in the GIS Reference Room. Before joining GIS four and a half years ago, Mr. Sullivan served as a university admissions officer in the UK. He has advised a number of GIS students with their graduate school applications, many of whom have received offers from prestigious graduate schools overseas. In this workshop, students learned how to obtain strong recommendation letters from their professors and the do's and don’t's of composing personal statements. Students also received advice tailored to their own individual disciplines and stages of application.
