On Wednesday, July 16, Rocío Elizabeth Linares Aguirre, a Ph.D. Student from the University of Vic, the Universitat Central de Catalunya, gave a fascinating GIS Talk on her research she is conducting while at Hosei University. She discussed the dynamics of Japanese female speech, onnakotoba, in yakuwarigo (role specific speech patterns). In particular, she focused on how Disney princesses have been translated and dubbed into Japanese from English. Exploring both the linguistic elements and the audio-visual aspects of their presentation, she analyzed how these patterns have evolved over time, from the early films to the contemporary works.

７月１６日のGIS Talkでは、ヴィック大学-カタルーニャ中央大学の博士課程に在籍するロシオ・エリザベス・リナレス・アギレさんが登壇しました。リナレス・アギレさんは、ディズニー作品に登場するプリンセスの言葉がいかに英語から日本語に翻訳され、吹き替えられているかに焦点を当て、役割語としての女言葉の作用について論じました。ディズニーの初期作品から現代の作品まで、これらのパターンが時代とともにどのように発展してきたかを言語的要素と視聴覚的側面から分析しました。
