（12/13）FICオープンセミナー「Documenting Another: Encounters with the Ainu」の開催について

開催内容

ポートレート写真を撮る際に写真家と被写体との関係が⽣まれます。
撮る⼈の眼差しによって相⼿が他者化され、写真の中の⾒る側と⾒られる側の⾮対称な⼒関係が強まる可能性は常に潜んでいます。
⼀⽅、写真家と被写体とのコラボレーションからそのような⾮対称性を避ける可能性を⾒出されます。

本イベントでは、東京とイタリアを拠点に活動するドキュメンタリー写真家のLaura Liverani（ラウラ・リヴェラーニ）と
アイヌ⽂化を発信すべく2023年に設⽴された合同会社katak代表の関根摩耶を招き、
写真や映像を通して⼈々やコミュニティをどのように表象するかを考察し、
個⼈的な物語と集合的な物語の両⽅を引き出す協働的な表現⽅法について講演していただきます。

When taking portrait photographs, a unique relationship emerges between the photographer and the subject.
Depending on the photographer’s gaze, the subject may become objectified,
reinforcing aninherent asymmetry of power between the one who sees and the one who is seen.
 Yet, collaboration between photographer and subject can open up possibilities to challenge and transcend this imbalance.
In this event, we welcome Laura Liverani, a documentary photographer based in Tokyo and Italy,
and Sekine Maya, representative of katak LLC, a company founded in 2023 to promote Ainu culture,
 to discuss how people and communities can be represented through collaborative approaches to storytelling that
bring together both personal and collective narratives.
