Classes in the 2021 Academic Year (Update No. 4)
- Response to the "Priority Measures to Prevent the Spread of the Coronavirus"

The new academic semester began on April 7 at Hosei University, and we started our classes as planned while working hard to prevent infections of the novel coronavirus.

However, as you may already know from the media and other sources, "Priority Measures to Prevent the Spread of the Coronavirus" have been implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government from April 12 to May 11. Classes in the spring semester of AY 2021 at Hosei University, as previously announced in our update Classes in the 2021 Academic Year (Update No. 3), will be taught in person, while maximum measures are taken to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. We will continue to monitor the situation in wider society.
In addition, in the event that in the future there is a sudden change in the infection situation, then we will continue to carry out educational activities while scrutinizing how to implement classes as needed, for example, by immediately switching some scheduled in-person classes to online classes. As such, please continue to regularly check our website, as well as Hoppii.

Also, as has been asked of all students repeatedly, it takes the cooperation of everyone to achieve a safe campus environment. Everyone on campus must wear a mask, and without fail, students must wear a mask when taking classes (Manual for Preventing Spread of Infections in Face-to-Face Classes [For Students]). Furthermore, we ask that everyone refrain from eating or drinking in large groups, and if you do eat or drink at lunchtime or between classes please make every effort to do so quietly.

It is essential that all students be aware of what they can do to prevent the spread of infections so that everyone can safely study, and live as a student, on the recently reopened campuses. We ask for your continued understanding and cooperation.
