Major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Graduate School of Science and Engineering

“Teaching advanced skills for sustaining contemporary science and technology, from basic to applied knowledge”

Multimedia, mobile devices, next-generation computers, artificial intelligence, micromachines, nanoelectronics, new materials, environmentally friendly energies—these keywords are all relevant to electrical engineering. This major emphasizes aspects of electrical and electronic engineering such as integrated circuits, semiconductor devices, electronic materials, electronic properties, telecommunications, controls, and energy. It promotes research and education that covers basic to advanced applied technologies that sustain contemporary science and technology, using state-of-the-art equipment at facilities like the Research Center of Ion Beam Technology and Research Center for Micro-Nano Technology at Hosei University.
The master’s program is designed to equip students with the depth of scholarship and the skills required of engineering specialists, and to produce individuals who can contribute their expertise in advanced technologies to society. The doctoral program strives to produce researchers who can turn a wealth of scientific knowledge into real research results. Every year, many papers from Hosei University graduate students are presented at meetings both in Japan and abroad. This program strives to give something back to society in the form of valuable technologies.
