News & Event

On Monday September 11, the Entrance Ceremony Fall 2017 was held at the Sky Hall on the 26th floor of the Boissonade Tower at Ichigaya Campus. Fall entrance ceremonies are held to welcome mainly new students from overseas. This year, 56 undergraduate and graduate students from 12 countries and regions began their university life at Hosei University.

The ceremony started with a speech in English by President Yuko Tanaka. She introduced the Hosei University Charter and gave a message of hope and expectation to new students who have joined the university family. The ceremony featured a welcoming speech by a current student and a matriculation speech by a new student, which were also delivered in English, reflecting the globalization of the university. The ceremony was closed with the group singing of the university song by the Hosei University chorus society (the Academy Choir), which brought all students and faculty and staff members together.

At the party after the ceremony, new students and faculty and staff members actively engaged in conversation with one another. New students, for many of whom this was their first day in Japan, seemed nervous but full of hope and excitement.

To the freshmen, congratulations and welcome to Hosei University!
