The Research Center for Computing and Multimedia Studies promotes the advancement of education and research in the field of multimedia infrastructure, while seeking new ways to harness information technology. To that end it conducts research and development on large-scale information systems and multimedia educational systems, and supports planning, design, and implementation of multimedia-based educational programs and related functions. The Center’s activities include performing comprehensive research in the areas of large-scale information systems and computational science; conducting research and development of educational support systems; fostering the spread of, and providing advice on, multimedia education; pursuing research and development of educational curricula and techniques that make sophisticated use of a wide range of media; and planning, designing, and supporting related educational programs.
