Restricted Campus Entry

As aftershocks continue, following the Friday March 11 earthquake off the northern coast of Japan, confusion in transportation services as well can still be seen with the rolling blackouts.  The University has thus decided that apart from job hunting activities, issuing of various certificates and return of books to the library, all 3 campuses-Ichigaya, Tama and Koganei-- will be closed to students and the general public until Thursday, March 31st. 

For the above mentioned situations, entrance into the campus is necessary, note that entrance is limited to between the hours of 10:00 -15:00 Mondays through Fridays only.  Entrance on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays is restricted.

Confusion and turmoil are expected due to recent rolling blackout decisions by TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company) and suspension of services by public transportation companies.  Thus, the University has decided that as of Tuesday March 15, all 3 campuses-Ichigaya, Tama and Koganei-- will be closed indefinitely to students and the general public. 

Note that all functions and events scheduled to be held during this period will be canceled.

2011 Updated March 12,7:20 a.m.

After completing a survey of all campuses, no damage of any significant nature has been found on any of our facilities. But, all the University campus will be closed until March 14 (Monday) for examination of safety.

Hosei University extends its most sincere sympathy to those who have suffered from Friday’s devastating earthquake and subsequent tremors which struck off the northern coast of Japan.

As of March 12, 2011, 6:00 a.m., Saturday, no casualties of Hosei students, faculty or staff were reported. Our best available information confirms no prominent damage has been done to the University facilities on each campus.
