Ichigaya Campus

The campus is located within easy reach of Narita and Haneda Airports, midway between the Iidabashi and Ichigaya Stations of the Japan Railway’s Chuo Line. Surrounded by the former imperial outer moat and the thickly wooded Yasukuni Shrine, the campus, although in the city center, is embraced by a calm fresh green atmosphere.

Boissonade Tower, symbol of the Ichigaya Campus, rises proudly above. The construction of the Tower was completed in the spring of 2000 and named after Dr. Gustave Emile Boissonade who is known as the founder of Japanese Contemporary Law and major contributor to the founding of Hosei University. The structure was designated one of the many projects and events to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Hosei’s founding. 27 stories in height with and additional 4 stories underground, this skyscraper is equipped with multimedia technology capability in each classroom, several student gathering areas, and energy saving-ecological equipment.
