International Japanese Studies Institute

Hosei University has strived to meet the complex and diversified needs of modern society as a general university. Currently, our graduate school has 14 schools, 27 majors, the International Japanology Research Center, and the two professional graduate schools. We have also established 11 research centers, including the Noh Theater Research Institute, The institute of Okinawan Studies, and the Institute of International Japan Studies, to cover these specialized fields.

Our new institute system (educational system) allows students to freely select institutes and their academic and educational resources from those that Hosei offers without being restricted by the conventional frame of specializations an majors, to construct their own programs.
