Graduate School of Humanities

The Graduate School of Humanities has as its basis the Faculty of Letters which was established in 1922 around NOGAMI Toyoichiro, a disciple of NATSUME Soseki, and his peers. The Graduate School takes pride in its unique academic tradition which is rooted in liberalism and humanism.

The faculty has boasted at time the likes of ABE Nosei, MORITA Shinpei, UCHIDA Hyakken, WATSUJI Tetsuro, MIKI Kiyoshi, TANIGAWA Tetsuzo‐all eminent philosophers and writerswho have taught and helped in the establishing of the Faculty as it stands today.
