Yoshiro Fukuda / Vice President

Yoshiro Fukuda was born in 1947. In 1971, he graduated from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Chuo University and joined the Japan Society for the Promotion of Machine Industry. While working with the Society, he submitted a dissertation to Kobe University and received his Ph.D. in engineering from the university in 1989. After leaving the Society in 1996, he joined Hosei University as a professor at the Faculty of Engineering, and has been a professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Design since 2009. He has held many important posts, including Chair of the Hosei University Graduate Schools Committee (2007–2009), an Executive Trustee of Hosei University (2011–2014), and a Councilor of Hosei University (2011–2014). He has served as Director of the Hosei University Global Education Center since 2014, and as a Vice President of Hosei University since 2015.

Yoshinori Kumata / Vice President


Born in 1953. Professor at the Faculty of Intercultural Communication. Graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in 1979. Earned his master’s degree from the Graduate School of Arts, Rikkyo University in 1981 and, other than his Dissertation, completed all his Ph.D. course requirements at the University’s Graduate School of Arts in 1982. Became an Assistant at the Department of Human Sciences, National Defense Academy in 1982, a Full-time Lecturer at the Academy in 1985, an Assistant Professor at Hosei University Faculty of General Education I in 1992, a Professor at the Faculty in 1996, and a Professor at Hosei University Faculty of Intercultural Communication in 1999 (a post he continues to hold to the present). His past service includes the Dean of the Faculty of Intercultural Communication in 2001 (until March 2003), a Councilor of Hosei University in 2001 (until March 2003), the Dean of the Graduate School of Intercultural Communication in 2007 (until March 2010), the Chair of the Hosei University Graduate Schools Committee in 2011 (until March 2013), and a Councilor of Hosei University (until March 2013). In 2015, he became a Vice President of Hosei University (up to the present), a Councilor of Hosei University in 2015 (until March 2017) and, in 2017, a Trustee, Executive Trustee and Councilor of Hosei University (up to the present).

Koichi Ogawa / Vice President


Born in 1957. Professor at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. Graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Keio University in 1980. Earned his master’s degree from the University’s Graduate School of Engineering in 1982 and a Ph.D. from the University’s Graduate School of Engineering in 1989. Became an Assistant at Keio University Faculty of Medicine in 1982, a Full-time Lecturer at the University in 1990, an Assistant Professor at Hosei University Faculty of Engineering in 1991, a Professor at the University’s Faculty in 1998, and a Professor at the University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering in 2008 (a post he continues to hold to the present). His past service includes the Dean of Hosei University Faculty of Science and Engineering in 2014 (until March 2016) and a Councilor of Hosei University in 2014 (until March 2016). In 2017, he became a Trustee, Executive Trustee and Councilor of Hosei University (up to the present) and, also in 2017, a Vice President of Hosei University (up to the present).

Katsuya Hirose / Vice President

 

Born in 1958. Professor, Faculty of Law. Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law in 1981. Earned his master’s degree from the University’s Graduate Schools for Law and Politics in 1983, other than Dissertation, completed all Ph.D. course requirements at the University’s Graduate Schools for Law and Politics in 1987, and earned his doctor’s degree in law from the University’s Graduate School in 1987. Became Associate Professor at Hosei University Faculty of Law in 1987 and became Professor at the University’s Faculty of Law in 1995 (a post he continues to hold to the present). His past service includes Director of Computing and Networking Center in 2008 (until March 2012), Dean of Faculty of Law in 2012 (until March 2014), and Councilor of Hosei University in 2012 (until March 2014). In 2014, he became a Trustee, Executive Trustee and Councilor (up to the present) and, in 2017, a Vice President of Hosei University (up to the present).

Masato Masuda / Vice President

 

Born in 1960. Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences. Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Economics in 1984, other than Dissertation, completed all Category II Ph.D. course requirements at the University's Graduate School of Economics in 1989. Associate Professor at Hosei University Faculty of Social Sciences in 1991 and became Professor of the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2002 (up to the present). His past service includes Director of Tama Student Activities Section in 2011 (until March 2013) and Director of Tama Volunteer Center in 2013 (until March 2014). Became a Trustee, Executive Trustee and Councilor in 2014 (up to the present) and, in 2017, a Vice President of Hosei University (up to the present).

Toshiyuki Okuyama / Vice President


Born in 1962. Professor at the Faculty of Economics. Graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Hosei University in 1986. Earned his master’s degree from the University’s Graduate School of Sociology in 1989, his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 1993 and, other than his Dissertation, completed all his Ph.D. course requirements at the Hosei University Graduate School of Sociology, also in 1993. Became an Assistant at the Department of Economics of Hirosaki University Faculty of Humanities in 1993, a Full-time Lecturer at the University in 1993, an Assistant Professor at the University in 1995, an Assistant Professor at Hosei University Faculty of Economics in 1996, a Professor at the University’s Faculty in 2002 (a post he continues to hold to the present), the Dean of the Graduate School of Economics in 2011, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics in 2015 (until March 2017), and a Councilor of Hosei University in 2015 (until March 2017). In 2017, he became a Trustee, Executive Trustee and Councilor of Hosei University (up to the present) and, also in 2017, a Vice President of Hosei University (up to the present).
