Opening Ceremony held for the 5th class in the Double Degree Program in the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences

November 6, 2015

On Monday, September 14, the Opening Ceremony for the 5th class in the Double Degree Program (DDP) in the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences was held on the Koganei Campus. Approximately 20 students, including five new students, participated in the ceremony.

Since 2011, the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences has had an agreement with China’s National Pilot Software Engineering Schools comprising 37 major graduate schools to conduct DDP, in which credits that students earned can be mutually transferred and a master’s degree obtained from both graduate schools in Japan and China. The program has so far produced 39 graduates from the 1st to the 4th classes.

At the Opening Ceremony, new students first introduced themselves and expressed their enthusiasm for study. Then, they spent some time interacting with faculty members and tutors, and visited a laboratory where they would be engaged in study. They all seemed to be looking forward to starting their study at Hosei University.

To develop human resources who can take the lead in developing information science and technology, which serves as a foundation for modern society, the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences will provide high-quality education and research guidance and produce superior human resources with practical expertise who can play active roles in the international community.
